Summer Makeup Essentials
Every year when Summer rolls around I’m forcefully reminded of all those tan skin genes my sister stole from me and how, with just a few hours in the sun she gets that incredible bronzed glow that makes us porcelain skinned girls a little [ok, A LOT!] envious. I used to try, and try [andddd TRY] to reach that same caramel skin tone every Summer with “Tingle” tanning lotions and 15 minutes in high-pressure beds three-four times a week. Yes, I even bought the J-Lo “Glow” make-up kit from Nordstrom’s to no avail. But it wasn’t until I moved to San Francisco three years ago that I finally gave up on my dreams of becoming a tawny babe like goddess Shakira and decided it was time to embrace my very own freckley “beige” skin. Mainly because a “Sunny Summer in San Francisco” is pretty much an oxy-moron, but also because of the increased risk of skin cancer caused by over exposure to the UVA rays in tanning beds [In a way I consider that move a blessing]. So while I was getting ready for my trip to the Caribbean about a month ago, I went on the search for the best beach-ready products that would not only give me that sought after glow, but also protect me from sun damage, wrinkles & sun spots [Nooo!]. These products are now essentials in my “Little Brown Cosmetic” and I literally can not go a day without them!
