The Good Natured

What do you get when you combine two hotter than hell siblings Sarah & Hamish McIntosh and drummer George Hinton with indie pop tunes laced with murky goth-esque vocals? UK indie pop trio The Good Natured, thats what. Had I never seen the face of this threesome I’d still have been sold simply on lyrics that touch upon the realities of life such as stripping down to your bare soul and allowing yourself to be taken as you are in songs like “Skeleton”. ahhhh…There is substance here. But there’s no way to describe the childlike excitement I felt in learning that The Good Natured is just as easy on the eyes as they are on the ears…So as I approach the new year with the resolution of going to see as much live music as I can fathom [& afford!] I’m thrilled that The Good Natured are at the start of that expedition. They’ll be playing at Rickshaw Stop on January 19th in San Francisco; the same venue that’s housed some of our favorite new acts like Foster the People and Glass Candy in past months. A great opportunity to catch this lovely trio for an intimate show just days before their first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel [January 23rd]. Until then I’ll be pining over tracks like “Your Body is a Machine” and Hamish’s luscious pompadour.
Polaris Project Success
If you’ve been reading Rolling Racks for some time now you probably know that this past Thursday was a very special evening dedicated to an outstanding cause: The Polaris Project. Hosted by Miss City of San Francisco, and my good friend Massi, the night brought out SF’s new wave of artists, photographers and fashion aficionados alike. With the help of Above Ground Productions the event was able to raise $1,200 dollars helping Massi further reach her goal of $3,000 raised and dedicated to the Polaris Project. We had 111 Minna jam-packed with people and there was no doubt that we lived up to the motto of the evening “Hangovers for a Cause”. With less than a month until Miss California USA in Palm Springs January 6th, 2012, Amanda Massi is well on her way to making a huge impact with her platform for Polaris. Job Well done!
