The Good Natured

What do you  get when you combine two hotter than hell siblings Sarah & Hamish McIntosh and drummer George Hinton with indie pop tunes laced with murky goth-esque vocals? UK indie pop trio The Good Natured, thats what. Had I never seen the face of this threesome I’d still have been sold simply on lyrics that touch upon the realities of life such as stripping down to your bare soul and allowing yourself to be taken as you are in songs like “Skeleton”. ahhhh…There is substance here. But there’s no way to describe the childlike excitement I felt in learning that The Good Natured is just as easy on the eyes as they are on the ears…So as I approach the new year with the resolution of going to see as much live music as I can fathom [& afford!] I’m thrilled that The Good Natured are at the start of that expedition. They’ll be playing at Rickshaw Stop on January 19th in San Francisco; the same venue that’s housed some of our favorite new acts like Foster the People and Glass Candy in past months. A great opportunity to catch this lovely trio for an intimate show just days before their first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel [January 23rd]. Until then I’ll be pining over tracks like “Your Body is a Machine” and Hamish’s luscious pompadour.

I remember working this event for the first time in LA 3 years ago when I was going to Paul Mitchell in Southern California. This is the sole event that made me decide to get into Fashion Design. I’m stoked that it’s finally making its way to SF =) Definitely going to be in attendance  April 14,2011. You can buy tickets here ——> Project Ethos

I had the pleasure of working with a group of ridiculously talented individuals on a photo shoot with Josh Farria the other day. It was my first on set shoot since moving to SF [over a year ago!] and it felt really good to be back out doing what I love in the world. We had the strikingly beautiful fox of a model Erin Coleman on set, who you may know as the Legs in a well known photo by Josh which you can view by clicking this joint right [[[ here ]]]. I was in charge of painting face & styling of course, and I had the gifted hands of Jessica Castro helping me out. It’s awesome having friends who share your passions with you, people you can talk about art, fabric, design, and make-up & all that girly sh-t with who not only understand you but are genuinely interested in hearing about your vision. It felt great to get the creative juices flowing, the energy of the entire shoot was offffff the hook. Since Josh only shoots in film, I’m super antsy waiting to see what we got! I’ll post the pics as we get them up. As always thanks RiSF for making every one laugh and getting some great behind the scene imagery, including us being mooned by a bum in an alley in the TL! Great group of people to work with, looking forward to getting it in my last year here, so let’s work! You can contact me for Hair & Makeup & wardrobe styling via facebook.com/AllieMarque.
